Physical Requirements This tour involves moderate daily walking of approximately 2 to 2.5 km on-site each day. Terrain includes cobblestone streets in Jerusalem's Old City, uneven archaeological sites at Caesarea and Jericho, hillside paths at the Mount of Olives, and stairways at various churches and historic buildings. The tour is not wheelchair-accessible. Travelers with limited mobility should contact us before booking to discuss specific needs.

Religious Site Dress Code A strict modest dress code is enforced at all religious sites throughout the tour. Both men and women must cover shoulders and knees at churches, the Western Wall, and any mosques. Women may be asked to cover their heads at certain sites. Your guide will remind you each morning, but please plan your wardrobe accordingly.

Border Crossings and Security Days 5 (Bethlehem) involves crossing into Palestinian Authority-administered territory. Your guide and driver will manage all logistics. Keep your passport with you at all times during the tour. Security checkpoints may cause occasional delays. Non-Israeli passport holders generally have no issues, but travelers with stamps from certain countries should check entry requirements in advance.

Climate and Best Times to Visit Israel has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers (June to September, 30 to 38°C) and mild, rainy winters (December to February, 8 to 15°C). Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) offer the most comfortable touring conditions. The Dead Sea and Jericho areas are significantly hotter year-round. Drink plenty of water regardless of season.

Meals Daily breakfast is included at your hotel (Days 2 through 9). Lunches and dinners are at your own expense. Your guide will stop at local restaurants or food markets during each touring day. Budget approximately $15 to $25 USD per meal. Vegetarian and kosher options are widely available. If you have severe food allergies or dietary restrictions, please inform us at the time of booking.

Accommodation All 8 nights are spent in deluxe (4 to 5 star) hotels in Tel Aviv. The specific hotel is confirmed after your booking is processed. Room types include shared (double), private single, and private double. A single supplement applies for solo travelers requesting a private room.

Group Size and Daily Format This tour operates with groups of 25 to 55 travelers on daily departure tours. The group composition may vary by day. All touring is conducted in English by a licensed Israeli guide. Transport is by air-conditioned touring coach. Typical daily return to the hotel is between 17:00 and 18:00.

        Cancellation Policy

        • 30% fee if canceled within 7 days of the tour start date
        • 50% fee if canceled within 3 days of the tour start date
        • 100% fee (no refund) if canceled less than 3 days before the tour start date

Tipping Tipping is customary in Israel but not mandatory. A common guideline is $5 to $10 USD per person per day for your guide, and $3 to $5 per person per day for the driver. Tips for restaurant staff are typically 10 to 15%.

Travel Insurance Travel insurance is not included but is strongly recommended. Ensure your policy covers medical emergencies, trip cancellation, and personal belongings.

Children and Age Range All ages are welcome on this tour. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Strollers are not practical for most sites due to steps, cobblestones, and narrow passages.

        What to bring

          Clothing and Footwear

          • Comfortable, sturdy walking shoes with good grip (you will walk 2 to 2.5 km on-site each day over uneven terrain, cobblestones, and archaeological sites)
          • Modest clothing for religious sites: shoulders and knees must be covered at churches, the Western Wall, and mosques. Women should carry a lightweight scarf or shawl for head covering at certain sites
          • Layers for variable temperatures: coastal areas and the Dead Sea can be hot, while Jerusalem and Safed (900m elevation) are noticeably cooler, especially in mornings and evenings
          • A hat and sunglasses for sun protection, particularly at Masada, the Dead Sea, and Jericho
          • A light rain jacket or windbreaker (November through March)

          Essentials

          • Valid passport (must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel date)
          • Printed or digital copy of your booking confirmation
          • Sunscreen (SPF 50+ recommended), especially for Dead Sea and desert excursions
          • Refillable water bottle (staying hydrated is critical in Israel's dry climate)
          • A small daypack or crossbody bag for daily excursions

For the Dead Sea (Day 6)

          • Swimsuit and a towel (or rent one on-site)
          • Water shoes or old sandals (the salt crystal shore is rough on bare feet)
          • Do not wear jewelry or metal accessories into the Dead Sea water
          • Avoid shaving or waxing 24 hours before your Dead Sea visit, as the salt water causes intense stinging on freshly shaved skin
          • Bring a plastic bag for wet items after swimming

For Yardenit Baptism (Day 3, Optional)

          • White baptismal robes are available for purchase on-site, but you may bring your own if preferred
          • A change of dry clothes and a towel

          Recommended Extras

          • A power adapter for Israel (Type C / Type H plug, 220V). Travelers from the US, Canada, UK, and Australia will need an adapter
          • A portable phone charger/power bank for long touring days
          • A small amount of Israeli Shekels (NIS) for tips, snacks, and market purchases. ATMs are widely available, and credit cards are accepted almost everywhere
          • Any prescription medications you require, in their original packaging with a copy of the prescription
          • A camera or smartphone for photos (photography is restricted inside some religious sites, your guide will advise)
